Journey Begins Here

Hello everyone! How were you while I was gone? But first of all, I beg your pardon because I didn't update my blog until now. Anyway, I have got something to tell you. There are going to be some improvements in my blog. The whole template is severely changed, and it's user interface is more friendly (all credit goes to the theme designer, which is NOT ME). Tag lines are modified into something more simple. All of my posts from now on and forward are going to be more relevant with actual facts, not only because I want to write it down. But don't worry, I'm not going to delete my old posts. All this I've done so you could read my entire posts without torturing your eyes. Sit back and enjoy!

Nowadays, it's so easy to travelling. Borjouis, backpacking, to the most extreme ways of travel... you name it. Informations are very easy to find (that's why they called this era 'Age of Information'). But back to the most fundamental rule of travelling: budget. Yes, people says money can't buy you everything. Unfortunately it seems this quote don't affect the term that every traveller must have enough money. You can shave your budget of course. But travelling isn't as merciful as your daily mall shopping, for sure.

The most popular way to travel lately is backpacking. Backpacking is the cheapest way to travel. You must push your needs beyond your average limit in order to cut your budget. It sounds hard, but trust me. Once you've done it, you'll realize how easy it could be done. And it's addicting!. People with ease share information about where to go, when, what should you see, etc. This means, chance for you to be the first one to travel to someplace out of ordinary is 'this' slight. I don't wanna be jealous to people who had done it and proudly boast their experience (I admit I envy them too, sometimes). But this question keeps popping out in my mind each times I read a travel log.

'What is the point of travelling?'

Some people doing travel so they could show off their achievements. 'I've been there... I've been here'. Some people just want to get loose from their routinities, trying to get some 'fresh air'. Others about business and research. And there's this few people, who just want to escape from nothing. Become a total stranger to themselves. Being one kind of them is not wrong. But myself admire, always, the last type. It's hard these days to find someone who ask about their existence in the world.

For me, travelling is not a choice. There's no first nor last time in travel. Travel's just as simply as a road, a never ending path, which we can't know for sure where it's headed.

I always put a lot point of interest toward foreign languages. Don't mistaken me from being unpatriotic. I still proud with my own mother tongue. But we should expand our knowledge more beyond, shouldn't we? People says that I'm good at English. But to be honest, I can't speak English fluently. Maybe because there's no one around me to be able to talk to. And lately, I've been trying to learn Arabic and Spanish. The reason I want to learn them is both of these languages support one of the widest community in the world. Let's say Spanish. They don't use Spanish here, obviously. But look at Latin America. Almost half of the people of Latin America speak Spanish (except in Brazil and some former colonies of another country). Not to mention the former colonies of Spain across the globe.

For the Arabic, it's the language of the second biggest religion in the world. And it's widely dispersed across North Africa and Middle-East. Actually, Mandarin is the second most used languages after English. But somehow, I never take any likings toward Eastern Asia languages (Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, etc). I know Arabic too has different writing system, but it's just as simple as I don't like meat. There's no specific reason. Oh yeah, learning foreign languages does have many benefits. One such as you could get more foreign friends, and it means you have a wider social links than those whose only learn English as their second language. For the future plan, after I've strengthen my English, I'm going to learn Arabic and Spanish until I speak both of them quite fluent. Then I'm going to learn Russian, since it looks harder than the other three.

Technology has been crazy lately. Just give a slight glance at what people hold when you're in the bus, when you're eating at the restaurant, when you're doing your daily window shopping at mall. Either it's a BlackBerry or  Android, it's raining smartphone out there. Myself have neither both of them, though. But I do want to have a smartphone. I don't fancy BlackBerry, but these people around me keep pushing that I should have one. It's nothing personal, just don't you get it's awkward to have two or more people are using the same thing you use? The same thing happen to Android. But it could be forgiven since Android has wider design and features. I'd been a loyal user of Sony Ericsson (I mean the longest product I've been using is Sony Ericsson) until this phone release was delayed last month. I thought, back then, "it's okay. Give it more time. Be patient." until I saw this product of Nokia a moment ago: The Nokia - N9.

The design looks like iPod Nano, but six times bigger. It has three colours: Blue, the signature of Nokia; black; and pink. And more surprisingly, it screen has AMOLED! (this is not exaggerating, but it is written with all capital letters) For the sounds quality, they say it has Dolby Surround that would enhance the sounds through any of your headphones. Despite it' doesn't have Android OS attached in it, I'm sure it'll still bring great performance. But look at the price. Jeez, I should have saving money from now on.

Yep! Finally, after a long time of confusing moment for deciding which one the path I must take, I'm going to be an aviator. Yes, not a pilot, but an aviator. Pilot is a wider term that refers to aircraft pilot, marine pilot, locomotive pilot, and many more. But to be more specific, those who engaged in aircraft called an aviator. The reasons I want to become an aviator are first, You could travel to any place (not any place at all, just the airports) and paid! Second, who doesn't want to fly. Back in the past, flying is expressed as a form of freedom and adventure. Third, the advantage of getting new friends across the globe. The last, becoming an aviator is a self-pride. But, in order to become an aviator, you must go to the flight academy. There are many flight academy across Indonesia. If you prefer a low budget school, you should try AURI or STPI, since they're owned by country. If you want a fast track for getting a job, you could try those flight academies that have signed contract with airlines. Myself choose the second option, although the cost is much more expensive than the first option. The only similarity is that the entry tests are horrible, both of them! Sigh... Godspeed for me.

Pheww... It's been a very long time since the last time I posted up my blog. But first of all, I want to apologize because my grammar is totally a mess (I know, and after all I still write in English). But this is essential in order to strengthen my English. About the previous blog, well... I admit it was suck. I've been changing the content of my previous blog like many times. But still, the results were not much satisfying. So, a moment ago, I decided to create a new blog and voila! Here lies before you the humble but rich blog of mine. If you want to criticise my writing, you could post comments AFTER you read the whole part precisely because scan reading isn't a good method for putting up a debate. And don't ever try to connect the stories here with the previous blog. They have nothing to do with this. And for the last but no least, hope you enjoy my new blog.
